▶ take 차지하다 ⇒ May I take it?을 직역하면 "제가 그걸 차지해도 될까요?" 즉, "제 좌석을 그 좌석으로 바꿀 수 있을까요?"

▶ take 동사가 타동사(vt)이기 때문에 "이 자리는 임자가 있다"라는 말은 be p.p [수동태로] This seat is taken.이라고 말합니다. 반대로 물어볼 때는 Is this seat taken?이라고 하면 되겠죠.

P : 실례합니다. 지나가도 될까요?

K : 물론이죠. 길을 막아서 죄송합니다.

▶ pass 지나가다 ⇒ 누군가 내가 지나가야 될 길을 막고 있을 때 May I pass, please? 또는 Let me pass, please라고 하세요.

▶ be[또는 get] in the way 방해가 되다

▶ sorry 뒤에 전치사 to를 사용하면 원형동사가 오고(to 부정사), for를 사용하면 명사[대명사, 동명사 포함]가 따라옵니다.

e.g.

I'm sorry to be late. "늦어서 미안해요."

I'm sorry for being late. "늦어서 미안해요."

▶ kind of 조금, 약간 ⇒ a kind of 일종의

e.g.

I'm kind of hungry. "조금 배가 고프군."

깍두기 is a kind of Kimchi. "깍두기는 일종의 김치입니다."

▶ nervous 겁많은, 초조한, 긴장되는

▶ first time 뒤에는 명사가 따라오기 때문에 fly의 동명사 flying을 사용했습니다.

e.g.

This is my first time visit. "이번이 제 첫 번째 방문입니다."

▶ fly in a plane 비행기를 타다 ⇒ 직역을 하면 '비행기 안에서 날다'지만 관용적인 표현이니까 암기하세요.

▶ fly - flew - flown

▶ I have flown in a plane. ⇒ have p.p. [현재완료]

P : 어디까지 가세요?

K : 라스 베이거스까지요.

 

 

▶ far 멀리 ⇒ How far "얼마나 멀리" 즉, "어디까지"

▶ as far as ... 까지

K : 실례합니다. 담요 한 장 가져다주시겠어요?

S : 물론이죠. 잠시만요.

 

 

▶ Could you bring me a blanket? 대신 간단하게 May I have a blanket?이라고 말해도 됩니다.
