It ... of 目 to do

It ... of 목적어 to 원형동사

가주어 it 뒤에 성질 형용사가 따라오면 전치사 for가 아닌 of를 사용해서 의미상의 주어를 밝힙니다.

 

 It is kind of you to help me. (⇒ You are kind.)
"저를 도와주시다니 당신은 친절하시군요."

 

▶ of you가 진주어 to help me의 의미상의 주어입니다.

 It is very kind of you to invite me to dinner. (⇒ You are very kind.)
"저를 저녁식사에 초대해주시다니 당신은 무척 친절하시군요."

 It is wise of her to tell him so. (⇒ She is wise.)
"그에게 그렇게 말하다니 그녀는 지혜롭군."
 

 It is stupid of me to forget his name. (⇒ I am stupid.)
"그의 이름을 잊어버리다니 난 어리석어."
